1 – Aceitar a tristeza;

2 – Encantar-se com a vida;

3 – Gratidão;

4 – Gerar afeto.

1 – Evitar a tristeza para evitar o sentimento de vulnerabilidade;

2 – Traçar metas de conquista, conquistar, para depois ficar encantado e satisfeito;

3 – Ganhar, para depois agradecer;

4 – Esperar o amor passivamente.

Joy

Joy is an interesting feeling. Since I’m naturally grumpy, I do not have much contact with it, and I’m always curious about the people who stamp it on the face. The appearance of joy, in my life, depends on very specific moments, a joke, an encounter, a song, an event. But I know many happy people, spontaneously joyful as if living was enough for it comes out. Even around me, stepson, wife, mother, some friends.

People spontaneously joyful, light-hearted, easy-going, flexible, conversational personalities. People easy-going with life and with the process of existing. As if they were existing and enjoying this passage of life. My wife, past the time of the first cup of coffee, to her it is as if life were an afternoon in the park. My stepson wakes up singing and dancing. My mother, I prefer not to live much near her, she is one of those people who laughs and thanks to life all the time!!!

I do not understand what bug bit this gang. I can change the placement, I do not know what neurological structure has a hyperfunction that generates this strange perception in relation to the environment.

I agree, there are some people who always use joy in order to seduce, attract attention, manipulate, and ultimately control the environment. Still, joy without the presence of enthusiasm, that driving force that generates a very good vitality, seems to me a little bit like a continuation of the emotion generated by the last joke heard. Something cheap and poor. But for some people, the spark that stirs up this emotion is very ready, very easy to ignite.

There, I feel an impression of lightness, of disengagement with the weight and burden of life. After all, “to live is to suffer,” my grandmother used to say.

But, that’s my old soul, bitter grin talking. Joy exists and is as intense a feeling as sadness itself, even in that description that makes it seem lighthearted. In fact, the touch of joy, the movement it causes in the body, generates tears and tears as important as in sadness.

Sadness and joy seem to be opposite points on the board of a seesaw. Balance, for fun and intense life, must be at the ends of the board, so the rise of the seesaw is always higher and more intense. People of easy crying (I speak here of sobs and tears, not of baby’s whimper) are people also prone to loud laughter. The opposite is also true. Excitable people live life with more intensity, without having to jump from parachute to feel the vibration of existing.

They chant, they laugh, they cry. And in this passage of emotions and emotional expressions, they balance the relationship between the stimuli that the world offers and the sensations and emotions that these stimuli generate. As if the tears and the laughter were to clear the system, maintaining a state of balance without having to diminish the sensitivity to the world.

There is no formula for being a joyful person. But a light relationship with life, with fewer charges, fewer judgments, less worried mental ruminations, creates a more favorable mental environment. The ability to be enchanted with the things of the world also favors: recognizing the beauty of things, the charm they offer.

Gratitude also seems to play an important role. People who agree to change the self-pitying mental assessment by a transformation that generates gratitude tend to become more prone to joy. I saw this a lot in groups of A.A. and in patients who undergo bariatric surgeries. This posture is also associated with more successful medical treatments. I do not understand well, but it would be something like, instead of feeling sorry for oneself for the difficulties, to begin to see that, each day has its enchantments and, for them, it is worth gratitude.

More affectionate people also seem more prone to smile. People who embrace, who express their feelings in words and touches (gentle), end up having the consequence of receiving more affection. As if the demonstration of love for the neighbor, propitiated to the neighbor the possibility and freedom of also expressing his love and affection. Therefore, most affectionate people end up feeling more loved and, this seems to be a very positive experience and conducive to joy.

So if I were to summarize, the key to a life of joy would be:

1 – Accept the sadness;

2 – Enchantment with life;

3 – Gratitude;

4 – Generate affection.

But, what we are trained to do in our education is:

1 – Avoid the sadness to avoid the feeling of vulnerability;

2 – To set goals of conquest, to conquer, to later be enchanted and satisfied;

3 – Win, then thank;

4 – Waiting for love passively.

That is, we are trained to create hindrances, conditions, and difficulties in relation to joy as if it were a reward to be won or something to be avoided. But, it is part of our basic biological responses, such as hunger, thirst, and sleep. And, as a regulator of the organism, it plays a fundamental role in the processes of life. Joy removes stress, tires you reduce the sensation of pain. It facilitates the approximation of hope and strengthens the bonds with existing.

No more to say about it.
